Blood Exemplar

Hideous beings of blood and madness, blood exemplars are creatures tainted by the influence of a balor or unique demon. Their eyes are totally red with blood (no pupil or iris), blinding them.


Creating A Blood Exemplar

"Blood exemplar" is a template that may be added to any creature of the fey, giant, or humanoid type between Small and Large size.

Hit Dice: Add one hit point per hit die due to the Blood Exemplar's increased constitution.

Size: As base creature

Initiative: Modify by +4 due to Improved Initiative feat.

Speed: As base creature

AC: add two points to AC due to the Blood Exemplar's "Blood Regrowth" ability.

Attacks: As base creature.

Damage: Blood Exemplars take no penalty when dealing lethal damage with an unarmed strike; however, they cannot deal nonlethal damage with an unarmed strike.

Face: As base creature.

Special Attacks: Blood Burst (Su): By bursting its eyes (dealing 1d2 points of nonlethal damage to itself) a Blood Exemplar releases a 10' ranged gout of acidic Abyssal blood striking one target (ranged touch attack roll required) for 2d4 acid damage.

Special Qualities: Keeps all special qualities of base creature except darkvision or low-light vision and gains:
Blindsight: A Blood Exemplar's eyes are sightless, but a dark gift allows it to sense objects within 60 ft., allowing it to perceive all creatures and objects within this radius as a sighted creature would. A Blood Exemplar need not make spot or listen checks to detect creatures within range of its blindsight, and invisibility is useless against it.
Blood Regrowth (Su): A Blood Exemplar gains a +2 bonus to Armor Class. If the Blood Exemplar uses Blood Burst, the damage heals (and the attack is possible again) in 1 turn.

Saves: Modify for Constitution and Wisdom; +4 morale bonus to Will saves

Abilities: Str +2, Con +2, Dex +0, Int reduced to 2, Wis reduced to 2, Cha -2.

Skills: As base creature

Feats: A Blood Exemplar gains Improved Initiative as a bonus feat.

Notes:

The transformation into a Blood Exemplar drives the victim mad. He lives, then, to seek out defenseless sentient creatures and beat them to death using its madness-strengthened fists and burn their flesh from their bones. It is granted limited regenerative powers to extend its life as an enforcer of demonic cruelty.
